Hello everyone, welcome to the next installment in our Kids At Home series – today let’s take a look at Daria’s room ! The adorable toddler lives with her mom, dad and big brother in a stunning Berlin apartment with a simply breathtaking view, overlooking a beautiful park !
I adore the mix of different colors and fabrics that Daria’s mom used for her room, like the gorgeous silk curtain with the matching tassels and the plush wingback chair with it’s dusky pink velvet upholstery… so pretty !
The striped bedspread matches the overall color scheme of the room and the adorable framed owl painting above the dresser was painted by Daria’s dad as a little boy – which is exactly the kind of personal touch that makes any room special !
Daria’s mom is Russian and this is reflected in small little ways throughout the whole apartment – in Daria’s room an icon is watching over her. The colorful little pouf was originally from IKEA but has been customized by the little girl’s crafty mom with a hand-knit cover and it really makes me wish I had the patience for knitting !
What I liked most about their apartment where the many pieces of heirloom furniture, which can also be found in the nursery. The little collection of vintage toys below was rescued from a family attic and given a new, shiny coat of paint – Daria’s dad used to play with the two hand made wooden horses when he was little…
One thing that really stands out in this nursery is the pale blue wall with the whimsical decal, hand painted by Daria’s maternal grandmother Svetlana, who is an accomplished Russian artist – just perfect for a nursery !
