Hello everyone, here is something for all of you who are curious about what the life of a blogger looks like…Today I’ll offer you an exclusive glimpse into the blogger lifestyle and tell you more than you probably ever wanted to know about Meet The Blogger, last weekend’s international blogger conference in London.
Meet the Blogger is a series of truly unique, international blogger conferences and last weekend’s London edition featured over 70 international design- and lifestyle bloggers – not only from Europe but also from more exotic locations such as Singapore and Israel. Each and everyone of us was in town for a weekend full of networking, inspiration, learning, trend-scouting and shopping and even the typically cloudy and rainy London weather did not dampen our fun !
The two-day program included such delights as a keynote by one my favourite bloggers, the always inspiring Yvonne Eijkenduijn whose blog Yvestown is one of my blog must-reads, workshops such as Revamp and restore your vintage furniture by Louise Blackmore of Westegguk and The 101 on producing original and inspiring posts by Yvonne and Mr. Bright Bazzar himself – the adorable and über-fashionable Will Taylor, an introduction to the latest homes and interiors color trends by Color trends expert Louise Smith from Dulux, a mouth-watering lunch buffet and a free manicure featuring this years’ trend colors… What can I say, it’s really hard to be a blogger !
The conference took place at the ME London hotel – a contemporary, luxury hotel designed by Foster + Partners which was founded by famed architect Lord Norman Foster and was truly a sight to behold. No self-respecting blogger ever goes anywhere without his or her camera and every corner of the ME London screamed “photo op”… Luckily, we were able to roam free, tour the hotel and satisfy our collective photography and design addiction – have a look ! 😉
Isn’t it gorgeous ?
There is one more thing I’d like to share with you: my absolute favourite part of any blogger event I have been to is the socialising – networking is such an integral part of blogging and I just love each and every opportunity to meet new, wonderful people from all corners of the world !
Whenever I talk to non-bloggers about blogging and social media, there is one thing I get asked every single time “Isn’t life as a blogger lonely, anonymous and isolated” ? Well, in fact the opposite is true ! I have met more new people and made more really great friends during this past year as a blogger than in the years before that and yes, meeting people online can absolutely lead to real-life friendships ! Authenticity, openness and friendliness are some of the cornerstones of the blogging business and I can’t stress enough how proud and fortunate I am to be a part of it !
After having had such an amazing weekend, I’d like to thank Liselore Stuut for initiating the Meet The Blogger conferences and bringing our small community this much closer together. A big thank you also goes to Will Taylor of Bright Bazzar and Igor Josifovic of Happy Interior Blog whom I have only recently met but who are just such a positive influence and great blogging role models ! Thank you to photographer Yeshen Venema for taking the lovely picture of me above and last but not least thanks to my friend Dani Gudith of andCute for being my blogging BFF ! 🙂
