Happy Halloween – New Orleans Style !

Hello my dears and a happy, spooky Halloween to all of you ! A few weeks ago I spend two beautiful autumn weeks in New Orleans and here is finally my first travel post for you. Today I would like to take you on a haunted tour of NOLA (short for New Orleans,Louisiana) and show you how New Orleans celebrates Halloween – enjoy !!

New Orleans – I don’t know where to even begin to describe it… It’s unlike any other place I have ever visited and it was simply love at first sight ! As you can tell from looking at the photos above, The Big Easy knows how to celebrate life (and yes, even death !) and boy, do they know how to throw a party – and Halloween is no exception !

You know how when you travel somewhere you have all these pictures and notions in your head of what your destination will be like and sometimes you end up getting disappointed because all those movies or photos you saw, left you with unrealistic or just different expectations ? New Orleans is not one of those places !! In fact, it is everything I ever dreamed of and so much more… It is exuberant yet laid back, it is colorful, free, full of positive energy and music – so. much. music. !

New Orleanians are some of the friendliest, chattiest, most helpful people you will ever meet and I have never been anywhere where I have felt at home this quickly. The kids loved it so much, Nick asked us to buy a house in NOLA – well, we’re still working on that one but who knows, maybe someday we will…

In the coming days and weeks, I will share much more about all our US and New Orleans adventures so stay tuned and if you like what you see, be greedy and come back for more. 😉 Bridgee xx
