One of the reasons why I enjoy photographing families so much is the fact that I love to engage them and try to capture the unique bond they have. Seeing the love on their faces and contributing just a little bit to their happiness by capturing a special moment in time for them never fails to put a smile on my face.

Scott Fitzgerald began writing  one of my favorite books, The Great Gatsby. To celebrate the US release of Baz Luhrmann’s movie version of The Great Gatsby this weekend, I styled and photographed a Great Gatsby inspired children’s fashion shoot… Take a look below and enjoy !

How cute are my little mini-versions of Daisy and Jay ? I am such a huge fan of the colorful, decadent Jazz Age with it’s lively music and opulent fashion and when Brooks Brothers recently introduced it’s amazing Great Gatsby Collection I began to wonder what a children’s version of it would look like.

Since I could not find any Great Gatsby inspired children’s collections anywhere, I just literally went to town and started browsing the stores for unique clothing items that I might be able to combine for a Jazz Era look… As you can see, a little creativity goes a long way and I managed to put together the perfect outfits by simply combining pieces from two of my favorite children’s fashion staples – Zara and H&M !

What do you think ? Do you like the look ? I think this would be such a cute lawn party idea for a themed summer birthday (at any age) !

As a mom of two I am forever fighting an uphill battle, trying to improve my family’s diet but unfortunately when it comes to cooking, I am not in the least bit creative… My toddler will only eat foods that have at least some kind of meat in them and my six-year-old son is a self-declared vegetarian foodie who loves vegetarian sushi and asks for new, exotic meals ALL THE TIME ! See what I have to work with here ?

Well, this is why the Sweet Paul Magazine is my secret weapon in the fight against food-boredom in an increasingly fast-food dominated world – I just adore their colorful, yummy and most importantly HEALTHY recipes and I love the child-friendly versions in the Kids Issue even more ! Now I don’t have to fake it anymore (my non-existent cooking skills that is) and can instead make it (and impress my demanding little foodie) !

Like many other moms, I am the designated photographer in the family which is great fun but unfortunately I am just never IN the pictures. Having a beautiful photo of myself with both of my kids would be a dream come true, which is why I am going to make sure that you get yours !
